We moved to Chicago!

We were lucky enough to find a beautiful apartment in Rogers Park, which is one of the northernmost neighborhoods in Chicago

We've gotten settled in and Tim has been very busy with his job. Right now Ruth has been looking for jobs and trying to keep Tim sane during his intensive summer training before the school year starts on August 3rd!
Wish us luck!

Ruth and Tim back in Minnesota

I am happy to inform everyone that we are both back in the USA! We've had some time to catch up with close family although there are still many of you we have yet to see! Please don't be offended if we haven't seen you yet, it's been pretty hectic!

Here are a few of the things we've been up to since we got home...

I went to Northrop a few times to stay with my parents

Noah got confirmed!

And then did this all summer...

Mom, Johnny and I went to the drive in the see Twilight's latest movie, Eclipse. It was awesome.

We went to the Watonwan co. fair.

Saw the worlds largest working firearm.

I went to Deerfield Beach, Florida to visit my sister and brother in law.

Then we went to see the Gulf of Mexico side in Naples before the BP oil spill got there.

I got a seasonal job scoring standardized tests for DRC and it was the best job I've ever had!

And I learned how to drive a manual in this:

We went to my good friend Ashley's wedding

And then passed this big lake on the way to Nisswa

We just love the Leitner's house in Nisswa

Plus they have this cool driveway that looks pretty familiar...

Where I kept expecting to see these people...

Tim got something cool in the mail...

Why it's those comic books he mailed to himself before leaving Japan!

Well that's our little update. We're both so happy to be home and really appreciate all your support while we were abroad! The emails, cards, letters and packages really meant the world to us!

February Vacation 2010

Johnny came for a visit last week and we took a week in Nara and Kyoto Japan! We did alot and saw alot, too much to really describe very well, so I think this will be a mostly photos post. One thing that might need explaining though, is that Nara Park is home to a few thousand deer, that are very comfortable being around humans, and that tourists often feed crackers sold by street vendors.

Hope you enjoyed them, sorry I don't have the energy to write any hilarious captions... maybe next time!
